During the Borger Nocturne on Friday 30 October, Kunsthal Extra City welcomes Het Kiek to the chapel of the former Dominican monastery. With Zoals het woord, zoals het hoort, Het Kiek presents an evening programme bringing sound and image together.

A range of performers take to the stage with spoken word, music and everything in between. In turn, a rotating group of illustrators translates the performances into live illustrations, projected across a four-panel display in the space. The result is a visual narrative that unfolds throughout the evening.

BORGER Nocturne

For the first time, five organisations in the Provinciestraat neighbourhood — Kunsthal Extra City, Out of Sight, MORPHO, Het Kiek and Solid Air — are joining forces for a shared programme during the BORGER Nocturne on Friday 30 October 2026.

We kick off the evening at Out of Sight with Sounding Shores, Sounding Depths by Jeanne Penjan Lassus, a film screening curated by MORPHO and Out of Sight. Afterwards, we head to Kunsthal Extra City for Zoals het woord, zoals het hoort, a live show translating sound into image, organised by Het Kiek. Kunsthal Extra City’s exhibition In Remembrance of the Earldom of Watou by Guillaume Bijl will also remain open until 21:00.
