Al Reinert, For All Mankind, 1989

PERFORMANCE

Drama Students, Royal Conservatory Antwerp

The live television broadcast of the landing on the moon by spacecraft Apollo 11 on 20 July 1969 is a milestone within the oeuvre and practice of Luc Deleu in general and for the foundation of T.O.P. office specifically. The recently graduated architect suddenly understood that the earth would be the new measurement tool for architecture and urban thinking. We will screen the film For All Mankind, a documentary created out of the rich documentation on the Apollo missions, combined with a mesmerizing soundtrack by Brian Eno. Master students of the drama department at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp will provide an introduction: they will recite, or act out, an expansive collage of texts about the miraculous moment when man set foot on the moon.

Supervisor: Lucas Vandervost, De Tijd - Students: Michèle Cuvelier, Nina Herbosch, Tiemen Hiemstra, Eli-Elise Hoopman, Dries Martens, Elena Peeters en Cootje Veelenturf.
