Antwerp Queer Arts Festival: more than an arts festival.

AQAF is a multidisciplinary arts festival, questioning gender and sexual diversity. For the past 8 years, they have programmed both local performers and international talent within a variety of art forms: music, literature, film, dance, theatre, exposition, performance… The festival works with open calls and has a particular interest for new queer talent.

This year's exhibition will open at Extra City and Morpho. During the opening night of the Antwerp Queer Arts Festival you can have a drink in the beautiful garden both organizations share. The exhibition features Nathan French, Yamuna Forzani, Anna Urazova, Laurent Poisson, Hussein Shikha and Denys Shantar. In the former Dominican monastery at the Provinciestraat, they will show drawings, painting, sculpture, video and textile art.

AQAF is a grassroots initiative. It relies on community support to create the spaces and representation that we need. Revenus or donations directly supports queer performers.
