Organised by Baya Collective
With Candied Conversations, BAYA Collective invites you to join a richly filled table where stories are woven into meals. Each session guides us through an artist's artistic practice, looking at food and its social, political and identity-shaping nature.
This session will be hosted by food artist, baker, writer and mushroom enthusiast Sadaf Malyar. Within her practice, Sadaf found solace within the universally celebrated warmth and magnetism of kitchen spaces. Her work erupted from the hands of her mother that taught her to cook, with roots that stem from Afghanistan. With her project ‘Flatbread Society’, Sadaf founded a food project with the intention of creating awareness for badly affected communities in war-torn areas. More recently, a new project has been cooking consisting of food installations, pop-up dinners, workshops,…
Sadaf invites you to sit closer, break bread and wander through the stories of her work…
BAYA is a creative collective that feels born out of a necessity for a new tide within our surroundings and a desire to develop and mold an authentic realm that connects creative individuals through collaborative process.
