On the occasion of the Antwerp Art Weekend and the exhibition Ring of Animals, Subin Son (KR, 1992) brings an exclusive performance on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May.
Whispers of the Wind, is an immersive, multi-sensory experience that takes place in the form of a wind reading. The reading performance plays with moments of encounter between eyes, hands, words, wind and a book. The pages of the book are allowed to turned randomly with the help of the wind, and the artist can only read the words and sentences visible at any given moment. She will type out the words and lines as they are seen, resulting in the creation of a new story.
During the performance, the audience is invited to interact with the performance and encouraged to imagine the missing words to fill in the gaps in the story.
The performance has an ongoing character and will take place between 11am and 6pm in the corridors leading to our chapel.
Come along and get carried away by the poetic interaction between words, wind and imagination.
