19:00: Lecture by Michiel Huijben
'Becoming a Building'
When Michiel Huijben thinks of ideas pertaining to the performing/performance of objects, he thinks of buildings. In his practice, he's mostly concerned with our relation to architectural spaces and their inherent and changing meanings. This lecture will primarily discuss examples where architecture and the human body meet in some way. Besides it will inform about how the materialist perspective relates specifically to architecture, but perhaps also to other objects.
Michiel Huijben is an artist based in London, where he has recently completed an MA in architectural theory.
20:30: 'Sound-Score for a Sculpture' by Michiel Helbig, Francois Boulanger aka Ssaliva & Raphael Vandeputte
The 7th edition of the auditive concept 'Sound-Score for a Sculpture' settles again in the architectural sculpture of Philip Metten. Sound clips, contemporary and historic recordings and electronics which are generated live are the ingredients for a 4 hour long mixture. Music, a universal way of communicating through the medium of sound, will resonate through 'The Corner Show'.
