Kunsthal Extra City cordially invites you to raise a glass to its 20th anniversary on Saturday 18 May from 6pm. For the occasion, we will serve two cocktails (one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic) and a spoken word performance by Sesa during the birthday celebration.

In this spoken word manifestation, Sefora Sam, also known as Sesa offers a deeply immersive experience that lets you feel the power of sound healing. With her melodious voice and accompanying band, she creates an enchanting atmosphere. Through her artistry, Sesa expertly guides her audience, inviting listeners on a journey of collective introspection, letting go, and gentleness. They navigate through emotional landscapes, exploring inner thoughts and feelings. In this way, her performances not only entertain but also offer a therapeutic and transformative experience for all who participate.

Sefora Sam, also known as "Sesa," is a spoken word poet, author, and performer from Antwerp, Belgium. She draws inspiration from both the small and large things that come her way daily. Sesa is known for sincere, vulnerable, and candid introspection through poetry. Her superpower is to spin love, growth, acceptance, and self-love from heartbreak, insecurity, and childhood traumas. She is the author of poetry collections "The Thrill of Victory" (2016), "The Break Free" (2020), and the workbook "Rose Quartz" (2019). In 2022, Sesa founded "Break Free Babes," a community for women that creates space for collective healing through the practice and witnessing of art. By sharing her poetry and creating space for healing, Sesa hopes to build a community that feels less alone and can grow together.
