As part of the ‘Drawing Documents’ exhibition (on show until 06/02/11) artist Christine Meisner will hold a performative lecture under the form of a speech titled ‘Hunting for a Name or The Most Remarkable Particulars in the Life of a Runaway’. This speech is based on the lectures the fugitive slave William Wells Brown gave in several European cities in the 19^th century as an indictment against slavery. Brown’s escape is the subject of ‘Meisner’s drawing Hunting for my Name’ on show in ‘Drawing Documents’. After the speech there will be a discussion with Anselm Franke, curator of the exhibition.
