The second edition of the Antwerp Art Nocturne will take place on 3 December. That evening we are open exclusively between 18:00-21:00, with an artist walk through Images Mon Amour, a solo exhibition by Rabih Mroué (LBN, 1967), at 18:00, given by visual artist Hussein Shikha.
Hussein Shikha is a multidisciplinary artist, graphic designer, writer, and researcher. His work entails experimental film, animation, textile and interactive installations. Hussein takes the manipulation and transformation of the southern Iraqi carpet (with all its philosophies) as a starting point to understand design from Eastern and non-Eastern perspectives. In so doing, he examines possible shifts towards more inclusive and less Eurocentric perceptions of design.
During the artist walk, Hussein Shikha will consider the cultural parallels between Iraq and Lebanon and address the complex issues associated with his homeland.
